Quality control

You want assurance about the quality of your products. That is why HWI has a specialised quality department, staffed by full-time skilled inspectors who focus entirely on measuring and checking your production. Even before we deliver anything, all your products undergo a thorough quality check in our measuring room. This is done with advanced and highly accurate measuring equipment, so you can be assured of top quality.

The measuring room features include 2 Faro measuring arms and a laser scanner
which allows complex products to be inspected in detail with the Faro Cam 2 measurement programme. This allows accurate measurement of the first product of a new production cycle and a comprehensive final inspection. Thanks to this approach, we deliver only products that meet the highest standards, without compromise.

What makes through-stamping so special?

Stamping is more than just an administrative act. It is a quality guarantee. Thanks to the stamping authorisation, you as a customer can count on maximum transparency, reliability and safety of the material used. HWI Machining is authorised to stamp materials with a 3.1 inspection report or 3.2 inspection certificate in accordance with DIN EN 10204. This leads to an increased guarantee about the quality of the material. Our through-stamping authorisation has been issued by DNV GL. View certificate

Process

How we work on quality step by step.

Measuring the product

Complex measurements are done with a Faro Gage Max and Faro Edge measuring arm and the Faro CAM2 measuring programme. Each measurement report is linked to the sales order and production of the product and has a reference to its material and heat number.

Product engraving

Engraving the product with the unique number of the melt composition (Heat) of the material. Linked to this number is a certificate with the composition and properties of the material.

100% Traceability

Engraving can make parts traceable in terms of material use, production and measurement reports. For quality checks, it is possible to find out where and when the part was produced and checked and what material was used.

Personalised marking

Indicates that the processes related to checking certificates and re-stamping are done by an employee with stamping authority. The stamping authorisation is granted by an auditing organisation that periodically checks the process.
